West Coast Tigers Basketball is a youth club basketball program based in Los Angeles, California offering competitive club teams, season leagues, shoot-outs, training, camps and clinics and much more. Our mission is the development of young athletes both on and off the court. We help players improve their basketball skill and acumen, in addition to improving their confidence and work ethic, and teaching them how to be leaders.
Tiger Sports offers after school sports programs, camps, events, and private training that incorporate innovative and fun ways to keep our youth staying active, healthy, and building confidence in sports. We run private "pod" classes, run birthday parties and other events,
The Tigers have earned a reputation for providing quality coaching and training while also running innovative, well organized events in the basketball community.




MEET THE COACHES
Todd Brandenburg
Director/Coach
Coach Todd moved to the United States from Central America, Panama at age 12. Basketball became his avenue to integrate with his community. He played Div II basketball at Flagler College in Florida. After college he worked for Nike and Adidas basketball and was competitively selected among 5 other guys, including now Head Assistant Coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, Coach Fred Vincent, to travel to Japan as an outreach program. Coach Todd previously served as Varsity Assistant Coach to Boys Basketball at Milken High School contributing to the team's first CIF championship, Head Coach JV Boys Basketball at Milken, and Varsity Assistant Coach to the Boys team at Beverly Hills High School.
He is a veteran coach at the Jay Bilas Coaches Development Program each summer where he works with top incoming talent, and continues to refine his knowledge of the game and coaching with leading college and professional coaches.
Coach Todd started Tigers over 10 years ago. A passionate coach and competitor who feels grateful to give back to the Game that has given him so much.
Scottie Jordan
Youth Development/Events/Coach
Coach Scottie is from Dallas, Texas and was a 3-sport athlete in basketball, football and boxing. He continued his athletic career at Texas State University where he studied sociology and business.
After moving to Los Angeles, he started coaching youth basketball and that’s where his love and passion for motivating and inspiring the next generation began. He’s been coaching for the last 5 years ranging from elementary school to high school kids.
Coach Scottie has dedicated his life to mentoring & encouraging young people so that they grow up with confidence, self-respect, and a strong work ethic.
He has also spent the last 8 years working with different audiences for television shows such as Dancing with the stars, Family Feud and Nickelodeon’s, All That.
He is a devoted husband and a new father to his son, Leo.
Mike Terani
Program Consultant/Coach
Coach Mike started playing basketball at the age of 8 and at the young age of 15 he began coaching and refereeing throughout Southern California. In 1996, he coached his first youth basketball team and immediately found his calling. A firm believer that through competitive sports young children can learn the skills they need to be successful in anything they do in life, Coach Mike strives to provide life lessons through every practice. He was a “Scholar-Athlete” in school and named “Most Improved Player of The Year” and “Most Inspirational Player of The Year”.
Coach Mike is a devoted husband and father to 3 children, Tyler (7), Bridget (5) and Blake (2), and is a Partner at Oakwood Legal Group, LLP. The life lessons learned through basketball have allowed him to be the best version of himself and he hopes to teach his players the same lessons.
Coltrane Powdrill
Trainer/Coach
Coach Coltrane, a Los Angeles native, played basketball at Moorpark College, earning the title of the third top scorer in the state. He transferred to California Lutheran University where he helped lead the Kingsmen to a SCIAC championship.
A devoted educator of the game, Coltrane possesses an indelible infatuation and enthusiasm for competition and the game of basketball. Discovering the call to be a coach while working with youth camps throughout his collegiate career sparked a desire to impart the game to the younger generations.
Coach Coltrane also has the ability to teach outside of basketball such as the fundamentals of soccer, football, baseball, and golf.
Daniel Thai
Trainer/Coach
Coach Daniel grew up in Rowland Heights, California, and discovered his love for basketball at the age of 8. By 14, he was already working his first role in the game as a scorekeeper, and by 17, he began coaching youth basketball. His passion for the sport has always gone hand in hand with his desire to mentor and inspire the next generation.
Daniel believes basketball is one of the best tools to teach life lessons that extend far beyond the court. Skills like teamwork, communication, grit, sacrifice, and camaraderie not only shape stronger players but also prepare kids for life’s challenges.
Outside of basketball, Daniel has worked with college students to develop their creative skills in graphic design, photography, and videography. He has also led teams on medical missions in Vietnam, guiding youth ages 14–19 through key stages of personal growth. Both experiences deepened his belief in the power of mentorship and its lasting impact on young people.
Demetrius Overstreet
Trainer/Coach
Demetrius Overstreet, known as Coach Meech, was raised in San Bernardino California, and began playing basketball at age 4. He graduated from San Bernardino High School, where he holds the record for most assists in a game and the fastest 100m dash. After high school, he went on to walk on the basketball team at Oregon State University. Coach Demetrius specializes in player development and has been coaching high school and AAU basketball for the last 4 years and has helped players continue their basketball and academic careers at the college level.
Gorden Boykins
Trainer/Coach
Coach Gorden, a Long Beach native who has been playing basketball since he was 10 years old, played basketball at Cerritos College and then transferred to play at Lewis Clark State College for his final 2 years of college. He led his team to a total of 40+ wins in just 2 years. Gorden has been working youth camps just about his entire basketball career and just fell in love with them. The way you can brighten up a kid’s day by just playing a sport is mind-blowing. Following his playing career, Gorden is transitioning into coaching the youth and giving back any way possible. His love and experience for the game continue to help him strive and help the next athletes in line play!
Corey Allen
Trainer/Coach
Coach Corey, originally from St. Louis, MO, moved to California in 2011 to play basketball at Mount San Antonio College, where he earned Player of the Year honors two years in a row and helped lead the team to its first state championship. After graduating, he transferred to the University of South Florida, playing for two years and earning a degree in communications. His basketball journey continued professionally overseas, with seasons in Albania, Georgia, Slovenia, Belgium, and Slovakia. He was also drafted in the 4th round by the Austin Spurs (San Antonio Spurs G League). Following his playing career, Coach Corey transitioned to coaching, starting with the freshman team at Walnut High School. His experience, both on and off the court, continues to shape his passion for the game and his commitment to mentoring the next generation of athletes.
